Agree & Qualify
Another way to answer the n’t type of question is to agree and qualify. If you want to diffuse the questioner’s line of questioning, then this is the approach we recommend. You come across as if you’re inline with their thought process, but you stick to your guns. Take a look.
“Can’t it be done by sooner?”
Once again, remember the questioner believes that it can be done sooner, so to diffuse any sort of argument, agree with the person, but qualify it so your opinion still stands.
“Yes, but it would bleed our resources dry.”
OR
“Yes, but we’d lose a great deal of quality and consistency.”
