/THEinsights anthropologistMy consulting career actually began the first day I stood on a stage in a theater class. It was there that I realized the power of connecting with people. I learned quickly the importance of listening to the audience and sensing whether they were “with” me or not. From there I held a variety of business roles within business management, organizational development, and human resources. It is the combination of these experiences that have contributed to my style and success as a coach, facilitator, and professional speaker, providing me a strong foundation in communication, facilitation, and interpersonal dynamics.
During my tenure with Universal Studios, I had the opportunity to work on exciting projects like; the first ever company-wide performance management process, designing training and development programs and delivering diverse curriculum across the organization. Branching out on my own in 2001 I was able to continue my relationship with NBC Universal as an external consultant as well as build a clientele across the entertainment, music, high-tech and video gaming industries delivering core development curriculum as well as customized programs on basic management skills, time management, coaching, giving feedback, interviewing, change management, and compliance training.
The biggest take away I find with every engagement I participate in is how critical it is for leaders and employees to have the support needed to reach their goals. This comes in many forms and can range from getting insight into how they may be getting in their own way, how to not over-rely on one strength and build new “behavioral muscle,” how to leverage the support and resources available to them, or the skills for working through the complex challenges of today’s workplace.
Regardless of the topic or support I’m providing, I believe that a person’s credibility can make or break their success. Our ability to communicate and connect with the people we work with, whether that’s through what we say, how we listen, or our ability to see another’s point of view, is usually the tipping point between simply being talented and actually being effective. I partner with people to help make employees and leaders cross that bridge, bringing all their talents and capabilities with them.

PERSONAL INTERESTS:
I spend much of my personal time with my husband and two daughters. When not curled up on the couch reading, I enjoy exploring the beaches, theater, movies, and all things Southern California has to offer with my family. Now that both my daughters are off to college, I enjoy volunteering for a variety of local causes and working with teenagers by helping them to develop their own voices and carve out their future.
